CDSE

                      Let's talk about CDSE

•CDSE stands for Combined Defence Services Exams, candidates  who wants to be a part of Indian Military Academy [IMA], Officers Training Academy [OTA], Indian Naval Academy [INA] and Indian Air Force Academy [AFA] have to apply for Combined Defence Services Examination.

CDS exam is conducted twice in a year by UPSC (Union Public Services Commission).
 CDS written exam has three different tests namely: English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.
  Candidates who'll clear CDS written exam will be called for interview by Service Selection Board (SSB), the successful candidates will go for Medical tests.
 And selected candidates will be appointed to respective training academies.


•Syllabus for CDS Exam
Candidates who wanna opt for IMA, INA and AFA will have to write objective type three papers [each of 100 marks] of – English , General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.
Candidates who wanna opt for OTA will have to write objective type, 2 papers [100 marks each] of – English and General Knowledge.

•Educational Qualification required for CDS Exam
Degree from a recognized University or equivalent- for IMA and OTA
B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engg- for Naval Academy
B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engg- for Air Force Academy

•Age limit for UPSC conducted CDS Exam:
Indian Military Academy - 19-24 years
Air Force Academy  - 19-23 years
Indian Naval Academy  -19-22 years 
Officer's Training Academy  - 19-25 years

Notification
•The Notification for the CDS exam is usually released in the months of October and June, and CDS exam is conducted in the months February and November

•Instructions 
Each correct answer is awarded with 0.83 marks
Negative marking is applicable in CDS examination, 1\3rd [0.27] marks will be deducted on every wrong answer.
Use of calculators are prohibited.
For cracking the paper you have to score the sectional cut off in each paper [i.e. 20%].
